Lower Static Pressures

Lower Static PressuresUsing Air Zone column units without underfloor ductwork will result in even lower static pressures due to our efficient cabinet design and direct drive plenum fan.

One of the advantages of underfloor systems is lower operating static pressure, which results in lower fan energy. Air Zone’s column units are carefully selected for optimal performance and operate with lower pressure, thereby consuming less fan horsepower.

In order to better assist the engineer in calculating the unit static pressure, we have provided a typical unit static pressure for an environmental air tower with a cooling coil. Please note that in order to guarantee NC 40 sound performance at the maximum airflow condition (refer to sound test data), the Total Static Pressure at the column unit should be 1.5” or lower.

PRIMARY AIR MIXING DAMPERS LOSS: 0.10
FILTER ALLOWANCE: 0.75
FAN INLET LOSS: 0.07
SAMPLE COOLING COIL PRESS. LOSS: 0.21
INTERNAL STATIC LOSS: 1.13
RETURN AIR STATIC LOSS: .25
UNDERFLOOR STATIC PRESSURE: .05
TOTAL STATIC PRESSURE: 1.43
